Untitled I Print

"Untitled I" was created at a moment in my life when my imagination was at the intersection of my perception, leading me to assign new meanings to figuration and color.  This work stems from a specific experience with meditation that instilled a sense of coordination between the aesthetic and semantic aspects of my painting. While contemplating the meditation "Expansion and Light", I created a system of interconnected nodes in charcoal, permeating the space, extending beyond the canvas and onto the walls. For me, there is a connection between the meditation mantra and the exploration of form and perception.
